Deputy Minister of Communications and CEO of the TIC, highlighted the achievements of the  𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐫 2025  event, held on February 3, 2025, just one day before the Capacity ME Event. The event successfully showcased Iran’s potential in international communications and emphasized its readiness to enter vibrant regional markets.
Despite sanctions, Telecommunication Infrastructure Company (TIC) organized this innovative event to announce Iran’s capabilities to regional operators, companies, and business partners.   Dr.Hashemi’s keynote speech underscored Iran’s strategic geographical position and the potential of shared fiber optics in the Persian Gulf to connect the region’s digital ecosystem, which was well-received by participating countries.
During the event, agreements were signed with Omantel and an Armenian operator, with hopes to continue this momentum in the coming years. Iran, sharing borders with 15 neighboring countries, is prepared to offer 100 GB capacity at all borders and provide one month of free services to neighboring nations.
Behzad Akbari emphasized Iran’s geographical advantage for developing cloud data centers and AI infrastructure, particularly in the northwest and northeast regions, which offer energy efficiency and stronger connectivity with Central Asian markets. He also noted Iran’s potential to connect the regional ecosystem with low-latency communications, positioning it as a viable alternative to the Suez Canal route for east-west traffic.
The  𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐫 2025  marks a strong start for Iran’s effective presence in international markets, with the Telecommunication Infrastructure Company (TIC)’s fiber network being one of the most stable and high-quality in the region. Mr. Akbari stressed the importance of private sector involvement in international markets, as collaboration between public and private entities enhances bargaining power both domestically and globally.
He also highlighted the need to revitalize the country’s digital ecosystem, supporting initiatives that boost optimism and startup investments. While significant investments have been made in ICT infrastructure, Mr. Akbari called for further advancements in fixed communications and fiber technology to improve service quality and overcome current challenges.
The event reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to becoming a key player in the global digital economy, leveraging its strategic position and robust infrastructure to drive regional and international connectivity.
